That stirring history of resistance once again opens the floodgates of our memories.
History is not like smoke, it cannot just drift away with the wind;
There lies the humiliation of shattered mountains and rivers, there lies the blood-soaked struggle of forty million compatriots;
The victory seventy years ago was hard-won, with an extremely heavy price;
Eight years of resistance turned the rich land of China into rubble, leaving people in dire straits.
But the brave sons and daughters of China uplifted the spirit of the nation, uniting the strength of the people; heroic deeds spread across the land.
For the magnificent mountains and rivers of our motherland, for the liberation and emancipation of our people, against Japanese imperialist invaders,
a series of earth-shattering anti-invasion wars unfolded;
writing a magnificent poem about how the Communist Party leads all people in their courageous struggle for national independence and people's liberation.
On this day commemorating the 70th anniversary of victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan, we remember the righteous spirit of heroes;
The heart-wrenching anti-Japanese war to save our nation emerges in our minds, as if bringing people back to that era filled with blood and fire;
'March of the Volunteers' and 'The Song of Dagger' seem to echo in our ears again;
's high-pitched melody makes our blood boil and urges us forward.
's iron hooves trampled on Chinese territory wantonly, ravaging its fertile land;
's Lugou Bridge Incident saw invaders boast that they would occupy Shanghai in a month and conquer China in three months;
's Nanjing Massacre turned Nanjing into a hell on earth filled with corpses and rubble;
's historical wheel ruthlessly rolled over us; we will forever remember this blood debt caused by Japanese invaders.
's people do not forget humiliation; how can a lion continue to sleep? How can we allow invaders to act recklessly on our territory covering nine hundred sixty thousand square kilometers?
's Chinese people rose from ruins; their unyielding backs formed a river like the Yellow River and stood tall like Mount Tai;
's Hundred Regiments Offensive, Battle at Taierzhuang, Battle at Pingxingguan crushed invaders' claims that they would destroy China in three months;
