Sandwiched glassSteel pipeSandwiched glassSteel pipeIn recent years, a new type of flexible non-metallic composite material pressure pipeline has gradually been promoted in the fields of petrochemicals, water supply and drainage, etc. It essentially consists of fiberglass as the reinforcement material and unsaturated thermosetting polyester resin as the matrix, with quartz sand sandwiched in between (abbreviated as FRP, code FWRPMP, commonly known as sandwiched pipe). The FRP pipeline currently follows the national building materials industry standard "Glass Fiber Reinforced Thermosetting Resin Sandwiched Pressure Pipe."
  2. Sandwiched glassSteel pipePerformance and advantages: ① High specific strength. Fiberglass is wound in a multi-layer mesh distribution according to certain rules, greatly improving the circumferential and axial strength indicators of the pipeline. ② High rigidity. The wall has quartz sand with a particle size of 0.3 to 0.8 mm sandwiched between the inner and outer layers, which enhances the rigidity of the glass after resin impregnation and curing.Steel pipe③ Good anti-permeation and corrosion resistance. Unsaturated polyester resin fills the space within the fiberglass network and has good wetting with fiberglass; after curing, it not only transmits loads and prevents leakage but also protects against acid, alkali, salt corrosion while preventing secondary pollution of transported media. ④ Good durability. The service life of sandwiched glass is related to environmental temperature and materials used as well as wall structure; according to current standard JC/T838-1998, it typically lasts for 50 years.Steel pipe⑤ Lightweight. The specific gravity of sandwiched fiberglass is about 15-20 g/cm3, approximately one-fourth that of steel. This project uses an inner diameter of 800 mm, wall thickness of 12-14 mm, single pipe length of 12 m, weighing about 0.8 tons.Steel pipe, which is very suitable for non-mechanical construction in mountainous areas. ⑥ Strong flow capacity.Steel pipeThe surface roughness coefficient of the inner wall is between 0.008 and 0.009; it is not easily contaminated by microorganisms or scaled inside the pipe, resulting in low pressure loss and high flow capacity.
In addition, FRP pipes use a socket connection method with double "O" type food-grade rubber seals; each joint is immediately inflated to check its tightness upon completion; furthermore, the inner lining is made from food-grade resin, so these pipes also have advantages such as low overall cost, easy installation, reliable operation, and being non-toxic and harmless.
